No fewer than 18 community football teams have been drawn into three groups to compete in the third edition of the AMA All-Star Unity Football Championship 2026 in Ikorodu Constituency II, Lagos State, Naija Footy reports.
The draw ceremony and media parley, held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, officially set the ball rolling for the grassroots tournament sponsored by the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA).
Speaking at the event, Abiodun stated that the championship extends beyond winning a trophy, describing it as a strategic platform to foster peace, develop local talent, and strengthen inter-community relations across the constituency.
“We are here to play football, but more importantly, to unite. We are here to compete, but more importantly, to build friendships. We are here to win a trophy, but more importantly, to build one strong Ikorodu Constituency II family,” the lawmaker declared while charging the participants to maintain maximum discipline throughout the tournament.
The official draw pitted the participating teams from Ijede, Igbogbo, Imota, Gberigbe, and surrounding areas into three groups of six.
Group A features Ijede All Stars, Oke Eletu All Stars, Offin Ile All Stars, Igbalu All Stars, Nwanne Dinanba All Stars, and CMS All Stars.
Group B comprises Imota All Stars, Abule Eko All Stars, Be Happy All Stars, Tira All Stars, Explorer All Stars, and Tripple O All Stars.
Group C houses Igbogbo All Stars, Alabi-Amo All Stars, Elepe All Stars, Accord All Stars, Makbet All Stars, and Otugbuwa All Stars.
According to the organizers, the group stage matches are scheduled to run from August 29 to September 26, while the Super 8 (quarter-finals) will hold between October 10 and October 24.
The semi-final clashes will take place on November 7, preceding the third-place match on November 14, while the grand finale is set for November 29, 2026.
