- Brighton & Hove Albion have identified Nigeria international winger Femi Azeez as a potential target should Amario Cozier-Duberry leave the club before the transfer window closes.
Rangers have reportedly had a £7.5 million bid rejected for Cozier-Duberry, who impressed during his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers last season. The 21-year-old recorded eight goals and 10 assists in 34 League One appearances, helping Bolton secure promotion through the play-offs.
Brighton are now considering alternatives, with 25-year-old Azeez emerging as one of their preferred options. The Millwall winger enjoyed an impressive Championship campaign last season, registering 11 goals and seven assists, while his performances earned him recognition in the Championship Team of the Season.
Azeez has also made an immediate impact with the Super Eagles. On his Nigeria debut at the 2026 Unity Cup, he scored twice in a 2–0 semi-final victory over Zimbabwe, becoming the first Nigerian in the millennium to score a brace on his international debut. He then provided the assist for Terem Moffi’s goal in Nigeria’s 3–0 final victory over Jamaica, helping the Super Eagles retain the Unity Cup.
Brighton are understood to be monitoring Azeez’s situation at Millwall, with the Championship club willing to consider his departure for the right price. Azeez remains under contract with Millwall until June 2028, meaning Brighton would need to negotiate a transfer fee for the Nigerian winger. Meanwhile, Cozier-Duberry’s future remains unresolved, with Brighton yet to accept Rangers’ offer.
