Brighton Step Up Pursuit of Super Eagles Winger

Brighton & Hove Albion are stepping up their pursuit of Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez, with the Premier League club hoping to reach an agreement with Millwall before the summer transfer deadline.

Brighton have already submitted two formal bids for the 25-year-old, with the latest understood to be a package worth just over £10 million. Both offers have been rejected by Millwall, but Brighton remain determined to land the Nigeria international before the window closes.

Azeez has attracted significant interest following an outstanding 2025/26 Championship campaign. He registered 11 goals and seven assists in 35 league appearances for Millwall and was subsequently named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year. He also made his Super Eagles breakthrough during the Unity Cup, scoring twice against Zimbabwe and providing an assist against Jamaica.

The winger joined Millwall from Reading in August 2024 after making 89 appearances for the Royals, scoring 11 goals. He previously played for Northwood, Wealdstone and Hanwell Town, with the latter two clubs coming during the early stages of his senior career. Azeez is currently contracted to Millwall until June 2028.

Azeez’s current market value is €15 million, and Millwall’s strong negotiating position means Brighton may have to improve their offer to convince the Championship club to sell. Brighton’s interest comes after Ipswich Town previously saw approaches for the winger rejected, while Aston Villa and clubs in Italy have also been linked with him.

Brighton are now expected to make another attempt to sign Azeez before the transfer deadline. No agreement has been reached yet, but the Premier League side’s decision to continue pushing after two rejected bids underlines their desire to bring the Nigerian forward to the Amex Stadium.
