Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez has been named in the 2025/26 PFA Championship Team of the Year following an impressive campaign with Millwall.
Azeez was honoured at the annual PFA Awards on Tuesday, August 25, after playing a key role in Millwall’s push for promotion. The 25-year-old recorded 11 goals and seven assists during the Championship season as Millwall reached the play-off semi-finals.
His impressive performances at club level earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles under head coach Eric Chelle. Azeez made an immediate impact during Nigeria’s Unity Cup campaign in May, scoring twice against Zimbabwe before providing an assist against Jamaica in the final as Nigeria lifted the trophy.
The recognition caps a strong season for Azeez, who established himself as one of Millwall’s key attacking players with his pace, direct running and finishing. His performances also attracted interest from several clubs during the summer transfer window.
Azeez was selected alongside some of the Championship’s standout performers, including Carl Rushworth, Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas, Tristan Crama, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Hayden Hackney, Matt Grimes, Jack Rudoni, Žan Vipotnik and Haji Wright. His inclusion represents another major milestone in the Nigerian forward’s growing career.
