Moffi Completes Bundesliga Move to Hamburger SV

  1. Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has completed a permanent transfer from OGC Nice to Bundesliga side Hamburger SV, signing a three-year contract with the newly promoted German club.

The 27-year-old Nigerian joins Hamburg in a deal reportedly worth around €2.5 million, including €500,000 in potential add-ons. Moffi will remain at the club until June 2029 and has been handed the iconic No. 9 shirt as he prepares to lead Hamburg’s attack in the Bundesliga. The move makes him the club’s seventh signing of the summer.

Moffi leaves Nice after joining the French club from Lorient in January 2023. He made 72 appearances and scored 24 goals for Nice before spending the second half of last season on loan at FC Porto, where he made 15 competitive appearances and scored twice.

The Nigerian striker’s current market value is €8 million. He has also represented the Super Eagles 23 times, scoring six goals, and has previously played for FK Kauno Žalgiris, FK Riteriai, KV Kortrijk, Lorient, Nice and Porto during his professional career.

The agreement with Hamburg is a permanent transfer, with Moffi signing a contract until 2029. The deal includes a reported €2 million base fee plus €500,000 in bonuses, while the striker will wear the No. 9 shirt. Hamburg are banking on his experience and physical presence to strengthen their attacking options following their return to Germany’s top flight.
