Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has expressed determination to make the most of his return to AC Milan under new head coach Ruben Amorim after a season-long loan at Fulham.
The 27-year-old made an immediate impact in pre-season, scoring once and providing two assists in Milan’s 4-2 victory over Manchester United while operating as a right wing-back. The performance has strengthened his position as he looks to finally establish himself at the club.
Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023 but struggled for consistency before being loaned to Fulham last season. At the Premier League side, he recorded three goals and four assists in 23 appearances, yet the English club opted not to trigger the purchase option.
Reflecting on his situation, Chukwueze said he is eager to take advantage of the fresh opportunity. “He trusts me, so he gave me an opportunity. Now it’s up to me to seize it. I can’t waste this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, returning to Milan after my loan,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
After adapting to the new role under Amorim during pre-season, Chukwueze will be looking to turn his early promise into consistent performances as Milan prepare for the 2026/27 campaign.
