Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare opened his league scoring account for Ajax as the Dutch giants secured a comfortable victory over their hosts in Velsen-Zuid.
Arokodare started the match on the bench before being introduced in the second half, with Ajax already in control of the contest. Davy Klaassen broke the deadlock in the 37th minute before Steven Berghuis doubled the visitors’ advantage 11 minutes after the restart.
The Nigeria international made an immediate impact after his introduction, scoring Ajax’s third goal in the 60th minute. Arokodare finished off a move involving Berghuis to cap another impressive appearance since his arrival at the Amsterdam club.
Marcos Leonardo completed the scoring in the 78th minute, securing a convincing victory for Ajax and rounding off a dominant second-half performance.
The goal was Arokodare’s fourth in six appearances since joining Ajax, while he has also contributed two assists during that period. His latest performance further underlines the Nigerian forward’s impressive start to life in the Netherlands.
