Ohale joins Como after Pachuca exit

Former Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has joined Italian club Como 1907 following her departure from Mexican side Pachuca, Naijafooty.com reports.

The Italian club confirmed the arrival of the experienced centre-back, who joined the team during the summer transfer window after ending her three-year spell with Pachuca.

Ohale made more than 100 appearances for the Mexican club, featuring in 105 official matches and scoring six goals. She also helped Pachuca win the Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2025 title and the CampeĂ³n de Campeonas trophy for the 2024/25 season.

The 34-year-old began her professional career in Nigeria in 2008 and has subsequently played in the United States, Sweden, Spain, Italy and Mexico. She previously had a spell with Italian side Roma in 2020 before returning to Italy with Como.

Como technical director Nils Nielsen praised Ohale’s experience and defensive qualities, saying her ability in one-on-one situations, positioning and aerial play would strengthen the team.

Ohale, who represented Nigeria for more than 15 years and won five Africa Women’s Cup of Nations titles, said she was delighted to return to Italy and begin another chapter of her career.

The defender’s move comes shortly after she announced her retirement from international football, bringing an end to a 16-year Super Falcons career. Ohale made 86 appearances for Nigeria and featured at four Women’s World Cups.
