Turkish Süper Lig newcomers Amedspor have signed Nigerian winger Yira Sor from Belgian club KRC Genk, providing an additional attacking option for the upcoming season, Naija Footy reports.
This move comes after Sor’s role at Genk diminished, with the 26-year-old nearing the end of his contract.
The former 36 lion player Yira Sor joins the Turkish side with a current market value of €2.5 million according to Transfermarkt, although this has decreased due to an uneven tenure in Belgium. Genk had previously acquired Sor from Slavia Prague for €6.5 million in January 2023, marking him as one of their significant attacking acquisitions.
During his stint at Genk, Sor played in 78 matches and scored 13 goals across all competitions. In the 2025/26 Belgian Pro League season, he appeared in 28 league games, contributing one assist. His time at the club was occasionally disrupted by injuries and competition for starting positions.
Prior to his move to Belgium, Sor had successful periods with Baník Ostrava and Slavia Prague. He scored six goals in 25 matches for Baník and added one goal in 13 appearances for Slavia, performances that encouraged Genk to make a considerable investment in his potential.
This transfer presents Sor with a chance to revitalize his career in Turkey as Amedspor prepares for its debut in the Süper Lig. The Nigerian international, who has one cap for the Super Eagles, aims to secure regular playing time to restore his top form and potentially boost his market value.
