Dutch giants Ajax have reportedly opened talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers over a permanent deal for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, but are unwilling to pay more than €25million for the Nigerian forward, Naijafooty.com gathered.
According to Soccernet, citing reports from Afrik-Foot and Fichajes, Ajax are keen to retain the 25-year-old beyond his current loan spell. However, the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement, with Wolves reportedly open to a sale but potentially demanding a higher fee.
Arokodare joined Ajax on a season-long loan in July, with an option to make the move permanent. The striker moved to Wolves from Belgian side Genk in September 2025 after emerging as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer during the 2024/25 campaign.
His performances in the Netherlands have strengthened Ajax’s interest, with the forward reportedly recording nine goals and three assists in 14 appearances this season. His form has made him an important attacking option as the Amsterdam club pursue their domestic ambitions.
According to Transfermarkt, Arokodare’s market value stood at €20milion in its latest listed update on June 3, 2026. While Ajax’s reported €25m ceiling is above that valuation, negotiations remain ongoing, and the Nigerian’s future could be decided later in the season if both clubs fail to settle on a fee in January.
