Nigeria’s Super Falcons will begin their qualification campaign for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games with a second-round tie against Comoros in October 2026.
The two-legged encounter is scheduled for October 9 and 13, with both matches to be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State. Nigeria received an automatic bye into the second round as one of the three highest-ranked teams in the African qualifying series.
Comoros advanced to the second round after recording a 30-0 aggregate victory over Sudan in the first round.
The Super Falcons will need to progress through four two-legged knockout rounds to secure one of Africa’s two available spots at the 2028 Olympics.
The third round is scheduled for February 23 to March 6, 2027, while the fourth round will take place from October 4 to 12, 2027. The final round is scheduled for November 23 to December 4, 2027.
Potential opponents in the later rounds include DR Congo, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire.
The Nigeria Football Federation has expressed confidence in the 10-time African champions’ chances of securing another Olympic ticket following their participation at the 2024 Games in Paris.
The Super Falcons will now turn their attention to preparations ahead of their opening qualifying matches against Comoros.
