Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has made Premier League history, becoming only the fifth player in the competition’s history to record at least 100 appearances for three different clubs.
Iwobi reached the landmark after starting Fulham’s 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage on Saturday. The appearance took his Premier League tally for Fulham to 100, adding to the 100 appearances he made for Arsenal and 123 for Everton.
The achievement places the 30-year-old alongside Gareth Barry, James Milner, Gary Speed and Rory Delap, who had previously reached the century mark with three separate Premier League clubs. Iwobi is also the first African player to accomplish the feat.
Iwobi joined Arsenal’s academy as a youngster before breaking into the first team, eventually moving to Everton in 2019. He joined Fulham in 2023 and has established himself as an important figure in the Cottagers’ midfield, with his versatility allowing him to operate across several attacking and midfield roles.
The Nigerian’s latest appearance takes his Premier League career total to 322 matches, underlining his remarkable longevity at the highest level of English football. He now stands alone among African players in an exclusive group that includes some of the competition’s most enduring performers.
