Lagos-based football club, 36 Lion FC, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence anniversary, calling for greater unity and a renewed commitment to national development, Naijafooty.com reports.
The club, in a goodwill message marking Nigeria’s Independence Day on Thursday, October 1, 2026, said the country remained central to its identity and motivation as it continues to develop young footballers.
According to the club, football remains one of the few platforms capable of bringing Nigerians from different ethnic, religious and social backgrounds together, while stressing its determination to use the sport to empower youths and contribute to the development of the country.
Founder and President of 36 Lion FC, Hajji Liameed Gafar, felicitated with Nigerians and urged young people to remain committed to the Nigerian dream by using their talents and energy positively.
Gafar said the club was proud to represent Nigeria both locally and internationally through its grassroots football development programmes and partnerships with clubs and organisations outside the country.
He also expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to make progress, while wishing citizens at home and abroad a peaceful Independence Day celebration.
The club called for sustained unity and collective efforts towards building a stronger Nigeria, reaffirming its commitment to contributing to the country through football and youth development.
